Jemima Boone Setzer was the grand-niece of pioneer Daniel Boone. In her obituary notice, the Dec. 14, 1876 edition of the Lenoir Topic stated that she was a "woman of strength and character, noted for her goodness of heart." It also stated that she was never out of the county in which she was born.[1].

According to information on her Find-a-Grave memorial, she was a grand niece of Daniel Boone.[2] Jemima (Boone) Setzer (1786-1876) and Daniel Boone (1734-1820) are both descendants of Sarah (Morgan) Boone (1700-1777).
