Bruce married Mary Ellen Gouldthorp (1887 - 1972) on 19 Feb 1923 in Hamilton, Waikato, New Zealand[2]
Bruce died on 20 Jun 1955 in Fitzroy, Victoria aged 73.[3] Probate: 13 Sep 1955 [4]

Bruce was in a military record for New Zealand WW1 Soldiers in 1917. His last know address was Owhango, and his occupation was listed as bushman. The classification on this record was 'C', which meant at the time he had two children[6][7]
Miscellaneous
He had a terrible accident when he was a lad when he fell off a haystack and landed on a pitchfork. Lots of operations over the following years.
In New Zealand they lived in Taihape, Mataroa, Owhango, Karamu, Whata Whata. He was 39 years old when he got married in New Zealand 19/2/1923. Bruce (Pop) and Nellie (Mary Ellen - Nanna) arrived back in Australia on Boxing Day 26/12/1924 with 4 children. Pop's brothers arranged for their return from NZ.
He was not mentioned in his mothers Will. Was it because he was in New Zealand or some reason I do not know of?....from Jenny Gray.
He patented a wheelbarrow for use at the Melbourne Markets where he hired them out. [8]
Made headlines in Melbourne papers when he died as he had heaps of money (coins) at his home, which appeared to be a dump. Lots of paper clippings & incorrect family details in these newspaper reports .
