John was born in June 1881[1], the youngest son of Adelard Eime Borne, Jr and Margarite (Mary Ellen) Doody. Both of his parents died before he was 9 years old, and he was basically raised by his two sisters. Over the years he had several jobs, including a streetcar conductor, a salesman for a laundry and in his older years as a bank guard/greeter at one of the large New Orleans Banks in the Central Business District. He and his wife, Marie Lucille Romagosa[2], raised 12 children. He passed away in July 1964.
