George was born in 1924 in Illinois. He grew up mostly in Washington State where he attended university. He was drafted into World War II and was the navigator in airplanes flying over Japan dropping bombs. After becoming a Christian, he returned to Japan as a missionary, where he met and married single missionary Lois Marsh from Alabama. They returned to the US for 7 years, had 5 children, then moved back to Japan to live, starting two churches in Tenryu and Kakegawa. George died at just 63 from a brain tumor in Kakegawa, Shizuoka, Japan. His body was flown back to the US and buried in Oneonta, Blount County, Alabama. He passed away in 1989, the same year as his father.
