William was born about 1620. He is the son of William Boswell and Margaret Inglis. [1]
William Boswell, Esq. of Knockroon, only son of John Boswell, of Auchinleck, by his second wife, Hon. Christian Stewart, dau. of Lord Ochiltree, obtained a grant of the lands of Knockroon from his father about lUOO. He was s. by his son, "William Boswell, Esq. of Knockroon, m. Margaret, dau. of Montgomerie, of Brigend, by whom he had issue, William, his heir. [2]
