David (Botwinik) Butler has Jewish Roots.

Biography

David Butler was likely the first of the family to immigrate to the United States. His naturalization records list an immigration date of 3 Nov 1898, but no ship name.

It appears the family surname of Botwinik (or variant) was changed to Bottler and then Butler because of David’s new world occupation as a bottler in a soda manufacturing business.

David moved his family from Chelsea, MA to Brooklyn, NY by 1918.

The landsmannschaft society which handled his burial (Chevra Agudath Achim Ansche Borisoff) was connected to Barysaw, Minsk Gubernya. David is buried in the Montefiore Cemetery, Springfield Gardens, Queens County, New York.
