Biography

It is estimated that Mercy Bouton was born say 1705. Her parents John Bouton and Mercy (Hickok) were living in Danbury, Connecticut, at the time of her birth.[1]

Mercy Bouton (sometimes transcribed as Benton) married 12 Nov 1724, in Stamford, Connecticut, Eliphalet Slason.[2] (b. 28 Nov 1703), son of James and Mehitable (Ambler) Slason.[1]

Eliphalet and his brother Eleazer operated mills in Stamford on the Mill River.[1]

Mercy Slawson and her husband were admitted to full communion at the Canaan Church 3 Sep 1733, a few months after parents joined.[3]
