When Philippe Philippan Boutte, the son of Philippe, a free man of color and Antoinette, a free mulatress, wed Pelagie Gregoire, a native American on 31 May 1834 in St Martinville, Louisiana,[1] their children and their birth dates were listed as follows[2]:

  2. Louise b. 1 Aug. 1820;
  3. Victorine b. 10 May 1824;
  4. Charles b. 13 Nov. 1826;
  5. Marie Lucille b. 13 Nov. 1829[sic];
