William was born abt. 1807 and baptised at Butterleigh, Devon on 31 May 1807.[1]
William married Mary Ann King on 30 October 1833 at Silverton, Devon, England.[2]
In the 1841 census of Silverton, William was living at Fore Street, Silverton, with his wife, Mary 25, and their children, Eliza 6, Mary 5, Jane 2, Sarah 1, and Charlotte 0.[3]
In the 1851 census of Exminster he was working as a gamekeeper and living with his wife Mary and their children, Eliza 15, Jane 12, Sarah 11, Charlotte 10, William 8, Benjamin 5, Emma 2, and Emily 1.[4]
In the 1861 census of Exminster he was working as a gamekeeper living at Towsington with his wife Mary and their children, Charlotte 19, Benjamin 14, Emma 12, Emily 10, Ellen 9, and Frank Bowden 7.[5]
In the 1871 census of Exminster he was working as a gamekeeper and living with his wife Mary, their children, Charlotte 28, Benjamin 24, Emily 20, Frank Bowden 17, and their grandson, Walter 7.[6]
William's death was registered at St Thomas, Devon abt. April - June 1878[7] and he was buried at Exminster, St Martin on 20 April 1878.[8]
