Cpt. Delos C. Boyd was born in 1823, Brown, Ohio. He was married to Nancy Forman, ^[1]in 1844, she used the last name of Forman on Pension record.^[2] Nancy's second husband was Samuel Bollman, they married in 1870.^[3][4]

Civil War

Delos was 39 years old when he enlisted with the Union Army on 9 August 1862 at Pittsfield, Illinois. He was mustered into Company A, 99th Regiment, Illinois Infantry. At the time of his enlistment he was described as being 5'10" tall, dark hair, blue eyes, and had a dark complexion. He was married and was a farmer.^[6][7]

Corp. Boyd was wounded on 22 May 1863 during the Siege of Vicksburg, he died from his wound on 23 May 1863.

He is buried in an unknown grave in the Vicksburg National Cemetery.
