Bertha Phoebe Brann was born on 13 Dec 1878 in Goudhurst, Kent, England to parents George Brann and Phoebe Richardson. Her birth was registered in 1879 Mar Qtr in Cranbrook, Kent, England.[1] She was christened on 26 Jan 1879 in Goudhurst, Kent, England.[2]
She immigrated to America with her family as an infant in 1879. They settled in Kansas.[3]
In 1880 she was age one year and living with her parents, brother Herbert G, and uncle John Richardson in Victoria, Rice, Kansas. Her father was a farmer.[4]
She married John Taylor on 7 Jun 1899 in Galt, Rice, Kansas. See attached newspaper article.
In 1900 she was age 21 and living with her husband John Taylor and her daughter Edna C, one year old, as well as her mother-in-law and one servant in Galt, Rice, Kansas. She had been married for one year. Her husband was a farmer.[11]
In 1910 she was age 31 and living with her husband and children in Galt, Rice, Kansas. Her husband John was a farmer.[12]
In 1920 she was age 41 and living with her husband and children in Galt, Rice, Kansas. Her husband was a farmer.[13]
In 1930 she was age 51, widowed, and living with two of her daughters in Lyons, Rice, Kansas.[14]
In 1950 she was age 71, widowed, and living with her daughter Christine in Lyons, Rice, Kansas. Christine was teaching sixth grade.[15]
She died on 1 Jun 1958 in Lyons, Rice, Kansas, and was buried in the Bean Cemetery in Little River, Rice, Kansas.[16]
