Biography

Whilhelmina, known as Mina, was the daughter of David Brass a farmer and Jannet Garson. She was baptised on 29 October 1826 at Sandwick.

Mina had 6 known siblings, David B. 1816, George B. 1818, John B. 1820, William B. 1821, James B, 1825 and Jacob B. 1830. The family lived at Lea, Innertown. a

Mina was employed as a 'Straw Plaiter' a.

On 21 November 1850 at Stromness, Mina married Andrew Anderson of Firth & Stenness. Mina and Andrew may have spent the early part of their marriage at her family home b.
