Walter was born in 1937. He was the son of Walter Braswell and Margaret Barskdale. He passed away in 2007.

Graveside services for Mr. Walter Guy Braswell Jr., age 73 of Ruston, LA will be held Sunday, December 2, 2007 at Salem Cemetery, near Dubach, LA with Rev. Ross Gentry officiating under the direction of Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Ruston.

Mr. Braswell was born May 2, 1934 and died November 30, 2007. He was a member of Salem United Methodist Church and was a devoted volunteer for the Red Cross, UMCOR and the Methodist DIM. Mr. Braswell was retired from Aetna Life where he had been an underwriter. He is preceded in death by his infant son James Allen Braswell and his parents.

Mr. Braswell is survived by his wife of 45 years, Marie Turner Braswell of Ruston, his son Walter Eugene Braswell of Birmingham, AL; his daughter Mary Margaret Braswell Fairbanks and husband Mike of Ocean Springs, MS; his two grandchildren: Alexis Braswell of Birmingham, AL; Elizabeth Williams Murphy and husband Cliff of Ocean Springs, MS. and a nephew James Edward Turner and wife Polly of Bossier City, LA.
