Ernest Norman Braund was born in 1877 at Bideford, Devon, England. He was the seventh child of Frederick Braund and Ellen Doidge.[1]
The family migrated to New South Wales, Australia, in 1881; settling in Armidale on the New South Wales New England Tablelands.
Ernest enlisted in the Australian Imperial Force during the Great War, just months after his eldest brother was killed at Gallipoli; enlisted 20th September 1915, returned to Australia 15th May 1919.[2]
He passed away in 1968.[3]
