Biography

Bridget was the oldest child in her family, born in New York, according to the 1850 census, probably in Moriah township, perhaps in Port Henry.[1] (Her birthdate is computed from her age at death as listed on her gravestone.) Her father was a miner in the iron mines in the Port Henry area.

She moved to Fort Winnebago, Wisconsin with her parents when she was a small child.[2] She died there at age 15 from an illness that also claimed the lives of her siblings Thomas and Ann. The three children are buried in St. Mary's Cemetery outside of Portage, Wisconsin.[3]
