Biography
Joseph Lancaster Brent attended Georgetown University. Attorney in St Martinville, Louisiana. Lawyer, state legislator, politician in California, 1850s. Captain, Major, Chief of Artillery, gunboat commander and commander of a Louisiana Cavalry Brigade in the American Civil War.[1] Lawyer and state legislator in Louisiana, lawyer in Maryland postwar.[2][3]
Son of William Leigh Brent and Maria Fenwick. Husband of Frances Rosella Kenner. Final resting place in Green Mount Cemetery, Baltimore, Baltimore City, Maryland.[4]
