The son of Sanders Brewer and Mary Ann (Duff) Brewer, George Brewer was born in Wayne County, Tennessee{[citation needed}} in 1865, residing with his family in 1880 in Wayne County's Civil District 11 and working on his father's farm.[1]
George married Mary Jane Brewer(1872-1959), the daughter of Richard McMillian Johnson Brewer and Sarah Porter Lackey, marrying in Wayne County, Tennessee on January 28, 1892[2] and having eight known children together:
Cicero Buchanan Brewer (1893-1967)
Franklin Snow Brewer (1894-1986)
Laura Ann Brewer (1896-1979)
Ada L. Brewer (1900-1988)
Pearl Rosella Brewer (1902-1982)
Charles Leonard Brewer (1905-1973)
Claytie Monetta Brewer (1910-1993)
Elizabeth Brewer (1913-1992)
They made their home together in Wayne County's Civil District 4, residing in a home that he owned, and farming.[3] In 1910, George and his family lived in Wayne County's Civil District 8, while he employed others on his farm.[4]
George Brewer died of a shotgun blast, fired from the "wayside,' at the age of 57, passing away in rural Wayne County, Tennessee.[5] He is buried at Walnut Grove Cemetery in Wayne County.[6]
