Research Notes

• (Records of Carolyn Brewster DePaolo): His middle name may have been spelled Cyremus.
• In the 1860 census for Leland's birth family, a female with the name "Cerenus" is listed. This is probably an error since this female child doesn't appear in any other records, but other records (including the letter quoted above) do refer to a male with the name "Ceremus."^[2][5]
