Biography
Rosalind Flora Bridge, an English violonist and composer, was born in 1884. She was the the daughter of the composer Frederick John Bridge and his wife Helen Mary Flora Amphlett.[1] She studied harmony with her father and the violin with a number of teachers. A composer of hymn tunes, her "Bethsaida" can be found in the Methodist Hymn Book, of which her father was music editor.[2] In the 1891 UK census, she was living at Westminster Abbey.[3] In the 1901 UK Census she was at Sandleford Priory near Newbury.[4]
In 1907 she married Edward Stainer,[5] and in 1911 she and Edward were living in St Marylebone with two children.[6] She died in 1966.[7]
