Biography
Gertrude was born in 1893, the daughter of Thomas Albert Bright and Mary Elizabeth Divine.
Gertrude Mary was born on April 6, 1893, the daughter of Thomas Bright, yeoman, and Mary Lavine [sic], of Haldimand Township, Northumberland County, Ontario.
She was married to William Henry Hicks in 1913. Their marriage record reads:
- William Henry Hicks, 21, residing and born in Percy Township, bachelor, farmer, son of James Hicks and Charlotte Ireland, married,
- Gertrude Mary Bright, 20, residing and born in Haldimand Township, spinster, daughter of Thos. Albert Bright and Mary Elizabeth Devine,
- On the 3rd of September, 1913, at Hastings, Northumberland County, Ontario.
Together they had the following children:
- William James Thomas, 1915 - 1995
- Charlotte Jesse May, 1917 - 1991
Gertrude passed away in 1967.
She and William were buried at Warkworth Cemetery, in Percy Township, Northumberland County, Ontario.
