Elsie was born 5 March 1875 in Muskingum County.^[1]

Elsie married Hugh McDonald in 1902 in Marshall County, West Virginia.^[2] They were living in Muskingum Township in 1920^[3] and 1930.^[4]

Mrs. McDonald Dies at Hospital

"Mrs. Elsie May McDonald, 81, of Dresden Route 2, widow of Hugh I. McDonald, died at 7 o'clock Monday evening at Bethesda Hospital where she had been admitted a short time before.

She had been in failing health for six years.

Mrs. McDonald was born March 5, 1875, in the Dresden area, the daughter of Philip and Margaret Campbell Brill.

She was a member of the Central Presbyterian church.

Surviving are three sons, Kenneth McDonald of the home farm, Carlos of Peoria, Ill., and Harold of Lawrenceville, Va.; a daughter, Miss Hazel McDonald of Oak Park, Ill.; two grandchildren, and two sisters, Mrs. Edward Stephens of Wyandotte, Mich., and Miss Jessie Brill of Dresden.

Five brothers and a sister preceded her in death.

The body was removed to the Baughman funeral home Dresden."^[5]
