Biography

Michael was born in 1815. He passed away in 1897.

Obituary Jan. 16 1897 MICHAEL BRILL DEAD Old Citizen of Outagamie Passes Away at His Home in Buchanan. Michael Brill, one of Outagamie county's oldest and most respected citizens, died early Thurs. morning at his old homestead in the town of Buchanan. The deceased was past 81 years of age and during the past two weeks has been gradually declining, due to his extreme age. He came to America in 1852, and during the first 10 years resided in Milwaukee county but in 1862 removed to Outagamie county and settled in Buchanan, where he has ever since resided being engaged nearly the entire time in the occupation of farming. During his residence of 35 years in this vicinity Mr. Brill earned the name of being an energetic and honorable man, and possessed of an unimpeachable character, counted by the scores his friends, all of whom will experience deep regret at his death. He leaves a family of seven children, his wife having died several years ago. The children are: Mrs. August Bast, who resided on the old homestead with her father; Mrs. John Heid, of Milwaukee; John, Robert and Will, of Buchanan, and Matt and Joe, of Appleton. The funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 10 o'clock from the St. Mary's Church.

Michael Brill An Old Settler Called to His Heavenly Home Michael Brill aged 81 years 2 months and 19 days, a resident of this section since 1863 died at his home on the old homestead, yesterday morning at half-past eight. His death was caused by old age, being in very poor health during the past few months. Mr Brill came to this country in 1852, locating on a farm at Granville in Milwaukee county. In 1863 he moved to this county, settling on the farm where he died. Deceased was a man whom every one liked. His hospitality, kind deeds and generosity, will long live in the memory of those who found in him a benevolent benefactor. His wife died five years after moving here. He leaves five sons and two daughters: John Brill, of Buchanan; Matthew Brill and Joseph Brill, of Appleton; Robert Brill and Willaim Brill, of Buchanan; Mrs. August Bast, of Buchanan, and Mrs. John Heid, of Milwaukee. The funeral will be held from St. Mary's church tomorrow morning at ten o'clock.[[1]]
