Biography

Louis Drake Brinckerhoff was born October 18, 1844, in Brooklyn, New York to George Woolsey and Sarah (Austin) Brinckerhoff.

He married Isabella Bridgham on September 25, 1866, just one month before her 16th birthday. She was born on October 29, 1850, in Poland, Maine.

In 1870, Lewis and Isabella Brinckerhoff lived in Fauquier, Virginia with their children, Sarah E. and Isabella. He owned his farm, valued at $12,000. They had three live-in domestic servants.

Louis Brinckerhoff died on January 21, 1877, in Fredericksburg, Virginia at the age of 32.

Isabella B. Richardson died on March 18, 1938, in Hendersonville, Virginia.

In 1850, 4yo Lewis Brinkerhoff lived in Brooklyn, NY with 63yo S. E. Austin (his grandmother?), but not with his parents.

Could not find him in the 1860 census.

On Feb. 3, 1865, Louis D. Brinckerhoff applied for a U. S. Passport in New York City. He was born in the state of New York on Oct. 14, 1846. His signing was witnessed by George W. Brinckerhoff. His physical description was:
