Albert was born 13 Nov 1842 in Jefferson, New York, United States.[1]

Albert was a Civil War veteran. He was living in Mt. Pleasant, Wisconsin when he enlisted in the Union Army as a Private in Company G, 43rd Regiment, Wisconsin Infantry on1 Sep 1864. He mustered out on 24 Jun 1965.[2] The 43rd Infantry was organized at Madison, Wisconsin and mustered in 8 Aug thru 30 Sep 1864. They were stationed at Johnsonville, Tennessee guarding railroad and supplies, and repulsing an attack. They were then moved to the Elk River Bridge where they guarded the Nashville & Chattanooga Railroad until muster out.[3]

He married Jennie L. Gile on 30 Jul 1873 in Burlington, Racine, Wisconsin, United States.[4]

Albert moved to Pasadena, California as part of the California Colony of Indiana in 1874. These are the founders of Pasadena.

Mr. Bristol was given first choice of location in the colony because of the preliminary work he had done in making a survey of the new holdings. He selected a thirty-acre tract in what later became the northwestern part of Pasadena.[5] Here he built the first home in the Colony - he was the pioneer home builder. This house was completed in a week and occupied by him on 6 Feb 1874.[6]

Albert was a police sergeant in Pasadena for many years.[7] He lived in Pasadena 48 years, and with J. H. Baker shared the honor of being the oldest surviving member of the California Colony of Indiana.[5]

He was a member of Pasadena, California’s John F. Godfrey Post of the G.A.R.

He passed away 12 Jan 1921 in Pasadena, Los Angeles, California, United States and is buried in Mountain View Cemetery and Mausoleum in Altadena, California.[1][7][5][8]
