EX-P.O.W. LEARNS HE IS A FATHER
By now, Captain Jock Britz, of Castle Hill, freed from the Japanese, will have received the joyful news that he is the father of fine son, Peter, aged 3 ½ years. Peter was born about the time that his father was captured at Singapore, while serving with the Headquarters Staff of the 27th Brigade, 8th Division. Young Peter polled well as the Castle Hill candidate in the recent popular baby competition for the Red Cross Prisoners-of-War Appeal, in which his mother, Mrs. J. Britz, had been a tireless worker.
Captain Britz (32), first a Cub, then a Rover Scout, and, as soon as he was old enough, an original member of the New South Wales Black Watch Regiment, transferred to the A.I.F. shortly before the Six Years War began. He was one of a party of N.S.W. Scouts attending the coronation of King George the Sixth. He is the elder son of Mr. and Mrs. A. Britz, of ."Coonardoo," Castle Hill. "It is wonderful, to know that he is free after all the long time of sus pense. All that his wife, my husband and I need now is to see him soon," said his mother.

Jock Henry Britz passed away 2 February 1963 at Hampton, Victoria, Australia. [5] [6]
