In 1802, on October 26, Henry Roberts purchased 200 acres "more or less" for "one hundred pounds current money of Virginia" John and Phoebe Haynes. Names of note in the land description include Nancy Brizendine and George Petty. Witnesses were Samuel Ashworth and Josiah Stokes[1]
