In Ernest's marriage notice, he is described as the only son of the late James Broadstock. On NSW BDM for his death in 1940 his parents are listed as James and Elizabeth. In his (blurry) death notice he is described as either 63 or 83. At 63 he is born 7 years before James and Elizabeth marry (but they would have been 21 & 20). At 83 he would be about the same age as James. (On james Henry's birth certificate it shows that Elizabeth was previously married and has a living son. So it's entirely possible that this is Ernest and he takes on the name Broadstock when Elizabeth and James marry.) In the Death Notice for William Henry Broadstock, he is described as being the uncle of Ernest and NSW BDM for Williams Death, lists William's Father as Amos. So whilst I have linked Ernest to James and Elizabeth, it is not 100% clear if this is correct.

BROADSTOCK Muriel – Address: Lake Street, Trafalgar – Contact: Mrs Broadstock – Tel C/- Trafalgar Post Office – 4yrs – Cause: Sycosis of scalp – Admitted 30 Sep 1911 at 11:15am – Discharged 16 Oct 1911 at 2pm – Condition unrelieved -16 days.
Listed on the 1913 Electoral Roll for Cobar, New South Wales, Australia, is;
Ernest Broadstock Becker-street, Miner.
William Joseph Broadstock, Barton-street, Mechanic
Lucy Broadstock, Barton-street, domestic duties.[1]
William and Ernest were born 2 years apart and are both decended from George Broadstock and Jemima Moore (Great Grandparents), making them second cousins. Becker Street and Barton street are only a few block long and intersect each other. Despite these connections, there is no evidence that they know of each others existence.
