Edward Brockbank became a coachman (1901 Census) and then a chauffeur (1911) in Woolton, Liverpool. By 1901, he had married Louisa Barnes, from nearby Southport. The couple had two sons, Edward (1901) and John (1904). Louisa died from multiple sclerosis of 15 years' duration in 1927. On 12 Jan 1931, Edward remarried Florence Greenhough, a spinster and licensed victualler. In the 1940s they are remembered as running a pub in Torver, from which they retired due to Edward reaching 65. They lived for a spell in Windermere, at the home of Edward's nephew, Jimmy Brockbank. Florence passed away in 1948, Edward in 1950. At that time he was working as a porter at the Tourists Rest Hotel in Little Langdale.
