Biography
Eli Bronson was born 30 Jun 1743 in Waterbury, New Haven, Connecticut. He was a son of Isaac and Eunice Bronson. On 4 Mar 1773, he married Mehitable Atwater, daughter of Captain Eneas Atwater of Wallingford.[1]

1775 Revolutionary War Rolls: "Pay Abstract of Captain Bray's Company, in Colonel Hooker's Regiment of Militia from the State of Conecticut" Listed is Private Elijah Brunson, arrived in camp April 3, served 1 month, 22 days, wages per month were £2. Time of Discharge, allowing 5 days to return was May 15th. Advance pay was 0, Total due at discharge was £3.9.4. [3]
1777 Rosters of Soldiers and Sailors: 1st Lieutenant Eli Brownson, of the Connecticut Militia, fought in the battle of Bennington, August 1777. Died 1830.[4]
According to United States Rosters of Soldiers and Sailors, 1775-1783, Eli died in 1830.[6]. However FindAGrave and 'History of Waterbury'[7] have his death in 1816.
