Biography
Prior to his marriage, Jesse Bronson was a private in the army. He was in Captain Samuel Clark's company, Col. John Brown's (Berkshire Co.) regiment, American Revolution. Jesse enlisted June 30, 1777. According to his date of birth he would have been only fourteen years old. He was discharged July 25, 1777, having been in the service only twenty-six days. This company was called out by Brigadier General Fellows for service at Fort Ann, by order of Major General Schuyler. In the summer of 1777 came the turning point of the Revolution. It was at Saratoga, near Schuylerville, where on October 17, 1777, Burgoyne surrendered his army. ----- 1790 Census, Waterbury, New Haven County, Connecticut
