In the 1850 census Caroline (age 25) was in Itawamba, Mississippi, United States.[2] The household included Charles Brooks 23, Caroline Brooks 25, Judy Brooks 6, John Brooks 4, and Thomas Brooks 2.
On the 1870 census for New Market, Madison Co., Alabama, Jane was living with two sons, and three daughters. She was also listed as being blind.
In 1880 Jane was listed as living with her daughter and son-in-law, Calvin Alonzo and Rebecca Lusiday (Bynum) Miles in Lincoln, Tennessee.
She died, at the age of 63, on October 21, 1888 in McNeil, Texas. She is buried at the McNeil Cemetery, McNeil, Caldwell County, Texas.[3] Jane is buried next to her granddaughter Julie Miles, the daughter of Calvin Alonzo and Rebecca Lusiday (Bynum) Miles.
