Biography
Francis was born in 1902. He was the son of Henry Brooks and Mary Flemming. He passed away in 1942.[1]
He was found hanged from the bars of his cell at the Mackay police station. Brooks appeared in court that morning charged with the murder of his wife at their farm, allegedly by shooting her as she was sleeping in bed. He made a rope of towel strips. Apparently he killed his wife to save her from enduring the war.[2][3][4] [5][6]
