Luther Brooks Sr. is a part of US Black heritage.

Luther Edward Brooks was born on 2 December 1899 in Grand Chain, Pulaski, Illinois, United States, son of Luther Minor Brooks and Sarrilla Young.^{[1] [2] [3]}

In 1900, Luther was living in Grand Chain, Pulaski with his father, Minor (29); and Samilla Brooks (22). ^[1]

In 1910, Luther (10) was living in Grand Chain, Pulaski with his parents, Minor (38) and Sarilla A (32); and his siblings, Herman H (8), Ada U (6), Charles T (3), and Ora S (1). ^[2]

Luther registered for the draft for World War I. ^[4], ^[5]

In 1920, Luther (20)'s occupation was 'laborer'. He was living in East St Louis Ward 4, St Clair with his parents, Minor L (48) and Sarrilla (41); and his siblings, Oda (16), Charles (13), Estella (10), Marguerite (8), Georgia (7), Richard (5), and Ociecliff (0). ^[6]

In the 1930 census Luther (age 30) was a single lodger in Cleveland, Cuyahoga, Ohio, United States.^[7]

Luther registered for the draft for World War II. ^[8]

Luther married Lillie Bertha Odom (born on 13 March 1901 in Biscoe, Prairie, Arkansas, United States; daughter of Elijah B Odom and Ada (Tomb) Odom). They had one known child, a son, together.

In 1950, Luther (50)'s occupation was 'welding'. He was living in Cleveland, Cuyahoga with his step-daughter Grace Brown (14) and son Luther (4). ^[3]

Luther died on 5 June 1993 in Cleveland, Cuyahoga, aged 93. He was buried in Highland Park Cemetery, Highland Hills, Cuyahoga County, Ohio, USA (plot: Sec 24, Lot A, Tier 4, Gr 89).^{[9] [10]}
