Biography
George Brophey was born on March 14, 1876, in Dodge County, Wisconsin. He was the son of Robert Andrew Brophy and Catherine Deguenther. He married Mary Mollie C Peppmoeller on January 3, 1921, in Snohomish, Washington. They had no children during their marriage. He died on October 28, 1938, in Wenatchee, Washington, at the age of 62, and was buried there.

George Brophey Dies at Home in Washington
George Brophey, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Brophey, early pioneers of Erin, Washington county, died at his home in Wenatchee, Wash., October 28. The deceased is a brother of Henry Brophey of this city.
Mr. Brophey was born March 14, 1876 and received his grammar school education at Toland. In 1904 he went to Leavenworth, Wash. to live. In 1904 he married Miss Mollie Peppmiller of Spokane and shortly thereafter moved to Wenatchee where he has since resided.
He was well known and remembered in this community, he and Mrs. Brophey, having visited Wisconsin friends and relatives in 1928.
It is learned that he went to work at noon at Oct 28, and returned about 2 o'clock, mentioning that he did not feel well. He died within three hours of a heart attack.
Mr. Brophey is survived by his widow, four sisters and three brothers: Mrs. Catherine Fitzgerald and Phillip Brophey of Mapleton; Mrs. Margaret Williams, Mrs. Gertrude Henning and John Brophey, Milwaukee; Mrs. Mary Coleman, Sussex and Henry Brophey, Hartford.
A brother, Robert, of Hales Corners, preceded him in death on September 1st of this year.
