Carrie M. Brotherton, 1861-1948, was the daughter of William Henry Brotherton and Carolina M. Manwaring. Carrie married twice. First, in 1879 to Amos Ballard. They had a son, George Arthur Ballard (1880-1954). She secondly married Edward DeHate on 28 November 1899 in Mount Clemens, Macomb, Michigan. Carried was born and died in Oakland County, Michigan. Carrie M. (Brotherton) Dehate, 1861-1948, is buried at Mount Avon Cemetery, Rochester, Michigan. Among family buried there are her son, her mother, four siblings, and other family. Carrie’s father, Corporal William Henry Brotherton, 1838-1864, died, a POW, and is buried at Andersonville National Cemetery, Georgia.
