Biography

Sarah (Brow) Merritt was born in Yorkshire, England.

Sarah was born in 1861, daughter of Mary and John Smith Brow (bef.1818-1887). In 1881 she was living at home and working as a weaver.

She married Edward Merritt (1861-) in 1892 and in 1901 they were living with their son and a cousin from Whitby.

By 1911 she was widowed and living with her son Edward Merritt (1861-), a bank clerk, and a servant. She died in 1914 and is buried in Bramley Baptist churchyard near her sister and niece.
