Mary Ann BROWN.[1]
Mary Ann was born Cannock, Staffordshire about 1805.
In about 1837 she had a child Eliza Rebecca, with Robert Lytham COURTNEY, fishmonger of the High Street, Walsall. It is not clear when she married, or if Brown is her maiden or perhaps a formerly married name. [2]
She is living at Park St, Walsall Borough, Staffordshire in 1841, with Ellen BROWN aged 10 and her daughter Eliza aged 4 . Her husband resident in the Doddington, Warwickshire asylum at that time.[3]

1843 - birth of son Alfred Messenger Courtney registered Wolverhampton, mother = Brown [5]
1845 - birth of daughter Rosa Matilda Courtney registered Wolverhampton, mother = Brown [6]
By 1851 the family were together at Walsall Borough Staffordshire. Living with husband Robert, Eliza and four more children, Albert b1841, Alfred b1843, Rosa b1845 and Flora b1847. [7]
By 1861 the family had moved to West Bromwich in Staffordshire, with husband Robert, and daughters Eliza and Flora.[8]
Robert Lynham Courtney, auctioneer, of West Bromwich died at Burntwood, Staffordshire on 14 April 1881; probate to widow Mary Ann Courtney of 1 Emily Place, Clifton Road, Aston, Birmingham [9]
Mary Ann Courtney died in Aston in 1882 [10]
