Biography
Maria was born about 1818. She is most likely the daughter of Jane Brown who had her daughter baptised on 29 Jul 1818 in Deal, Kent, England.
She married William Claringbold on 21 Jul 1835 in Walmer, Kent, England.[1]
Maria age 20 and her daughter Mary age 4 resided with her brother-in-law Alfred Claringbold age 25 and a mariner. Her husband William had emigrated to New Zealand on the Will Watch ship.[2]
She emigrated to Nelson, New Zealand with her two daughters on the Lloyds vessel with the other wives and children of the expeditionary ships.[3] [4]
