Pvt. Alexander "Alex" Brown married Mary Goodlett (1842-1911) on 18 May 1860.^[1][2]

Their daughter Mary Jane Brown was born 12 July 1861, died 28 November 1945^[3]

The family below Alexander's in 1860 probably was his mother and siblings. Sarah age 48.^[4]

Civil War

Alexander enlisted with the Union Army at the age of 22 on 25 September 1861 at Harrodsburg, Kentucky. He was mustered into Company E, 19th Regiment, Kentucky Infantry.

According to his military records, he died on 31 May 1863 in the General Hospital in Vicksburg of wounds he received in action before Vicksburg on 22 May 1863. Severely wounded in left breast.^[5]
