Harriett was born in about 1833 in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire. She was the daughter of Thomas Brown.
Marriage
Charles Woodward and Harriett Jane Brown were married after banns at St Marylebone, Westminster, Middlesex on 19th August 1855[1]. They were both of full age and living in St Marylebone at the time. Charles was a widower, working as a joiner and the son of John Woodward who was a wheelwright. Harriet was a spinster and the daughter of Thomas Brown who was a labourer. They each signed their own name on the register and the witnesses to the marriage were James Brown and Elizabeth Brown[2].

Death
Harriet died on 31st May 1874 at 1 Stanmore Street, St Pancras, London[4]. The death certificate following a post mortem and inquest on 4th June 1874 gave the cause of death as effusion of blood in the brain
