Jessie Augustus Sophia Brown (married name Hatty) was born on 28 July 1857 in Whittlesea, Victoria, Australia, the daughter of Sophia Rennie (peters) Brown and James William Brown.^{[citation needed]}

She married William John Hatty in 1867 in Victoria.^[1]

She was the mother of Thomas Alfred (Yannathan), mother-in-law of Vilma.^[2]

Jessica died in 1929 in Melbourne, Victoria, aged 72 years. ^[3][4]
