SURFSIDE BEACH — Mr. Francis “Frank” Hartley Brown, 82, of Surfside Beach, died Thursday, April 26, 2007. Born September 26, 1924 in Marion County, he was the son of the late William A. and Winnie Hartley Brown. Mr. Brown was a graduate of Marion High School and former owner of the Surfside Exxon for over 25 years. He served during WWII in the United States Navy and retired with 20 years of service. Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years: Florence McIntyre Brown and sister: Helen Brown Grice. Surviving are his daughter: Winnie Brown King and her husband Barry, of Myrtle Beach; nephews: Bevan and Albert Grice and brother-in-law Ed Grice. Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 28, 2007 at First Baptist Church of Myrtle Beach. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. Friday, April 27, 2007 at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Beach Chapel.
