Biography

Abraham was born in 1707. Son of Tobias Brown and Alice (Burrington) Brown. [1]

He married Sarah Cory/Corey, daughter of Thomas & Sarah (Taber) Corey, on 17 Dec 1731 at Tiverton, Newport, RI - parents of Abigail, Abraham, Sarah, Rebecca & Patience. [2]

Per his Will below they had the following children:

  1. Abigail - born 21 Feb 1731/32 [3]
  2. Abraham - born 1 Jan 1734/35 [4]
  3. Sarah - born 17 Jul 1736 [5]
  4. Rebecca - born 23 Mar 1739/40 [6] m 1761. [7]
  5. Patience m 1759. [8]

Will of Abraham Brown of Tiverton, Yeoman[9]. [10]"Being now in my declining years,". Dated 6 June 1743, Proved on 8 April 1747. Wife Sarah and son Abraham Brown (under 21 years of age). Daughters Abigail Brown, Sarah Brown, Rebecca Brown, And Patience Brown all under 18 years of age. Leaves to son Abraham a land right "that fell to his mother from his Grandfather Corey." Witnesses Phillip Corey, William Manchester and Samuel Cook [11:221.2.3].

His inventory which was taken on 26 February 1746/47.[10]

Order to Sarah Brown, widow and Executor of Estate of Abraham Brown of Tiverton. Dated 4 Nov 1746 [11:223/4].
