Biography

Edward was born in 1833. He is the son of Jonas Brown and Hannah Day. He was christened on 21 December 1833 at Silkstone, Yorkshire. ^[1] Edward may have been christened a second time on 3 December 1837 at Silkstone, Yorkshire.^[2]

Edward (age 22), son of Jonas Brown, married Sarah Ellis (age 28) on 4 June 1854 in Worsbrough, Yorkshire (West Riding), England.^[3]

The date of his death is not known.

Research Note

There are two christenings for Edward Brown recorded at Silkstone, Yorkshire. One is on 21 December 1833 and one on 3 December 1837 at Silkstone, Yorkshire. On 3 December 1837 Jonas and Hannah Brown christened 5 children including Edward. It might be presumed that Edward Brown (1833) had died and a later child given the same name. There does not appear to be any evidence that this was the case. Edward Brown (1833) appears on the 1841 and later census. There does not appear to any evidence of an Edward Brown (1837) other than the christening on Family Search, Ancestry on Findmypast. I have presumed that Edward was christened twice.
