He was the son of Robert Brudenell, 6th Earl of Cardigan and Penelope Anne Cooke.[1]He was born on the 16th of October 1797 at Hambleden, Buckinghamshire, England[1]He was baptised on the 5th of November 1797 at Hambleden, Buckinghamshire, England[1][2]He was married twice, firstly to Elizabeth Jane Henrietta Tollemache, daughter of the Lady Elizabeth Stratford and Admiral John Richard Delap Tollemache on the 9th of June 1826 at Chiswick, London, England.[1][3] He married, secondly, Adeline Louisa Maria de Horsey, daughter of the Lady Louisa Maria Judith Rous and Spencer Horsey de Horsey on the 20th of September 1858.[4]He and Elizabeth Jane Henrietta Tollemache were separated in 1846 after an unhappy marriage.[4]He died on 28 March 1868 at age 70 at Deene Park, Corby, Northamptonshire, England, from injuries sustained in a fall from his horse.[4][5]He has an extensive biographical entry in the Dictionary of National Biography.[6]
