Biography

Graham was born in 1876.^[1] He is the son of Graham Bruere and Elizabeth (Goss) Bruere Boyd.

He married Eliza Ashby in 1900.^[2] They had five children: Graham (1902), Bertha (1903), Catherine (1905), Ena (1906), Graham (1909).

BRUERE - ASHBY - Sept 5 at St John's Church Balcairn, by the Rev H East, assisted by Rev F P Fendall, Graham A., eldest son of the late Graham Bruere to Eliza (Dolly), eldest daughter of Stanton J Ashby.^[3]

He died in 1953 at the age of 77 ^[4] and is buried in Balcairn Cemetery.^[5]

Bruere, Graham Augustus, Farmer, 'Stanwell,' Balcairn. Mr. Bruere was born at Sefton in March, 1876, and educated at Mount Grey Downs school. He was brought up to country life by his father, the late Mr. Graham Bruere, and has managed his father's estate since February, 1902. As an Oddfellow he is attached to the Loyal Leithfield Lodge. He also holds a seat on the Balacairn school committee. Mr. Bruce was married, on the 5th of September, 1900, to a daughter of Mr. Ashby, of Blacairn.^[6]
