Samuel H. Bryan was born about 1834 in North Carolina. He was the son of Needham Bryan and Sarah Jones. Samuel served as a Sergeant for Company D in the North Carolina 31st Infantry Regiment during the Civil War.[1] He fought for the Confederate side of the conflict.[2][3]
