Biography

Daughter of Pantaleone Bucci and Josephine Ferrara, Italian immigrants, Eleanor was born in New York in 1927^[1] and grew up in Brooklyn.^[2] She had one brother, Jerry Brucci, born in Brooklyn in 1934.

Eleanor married Abraham Chernoff in Charlotte, North Carolina on July 27, 1943, most likely because she was 16 and was too young to marry in New York.^[3] They married again after she turned 18, marrying in Brooklyn on June 11, 1945.^[4] They made their home first in Brooklyn.^[5]

Eleanor and Abraham had three children together, Joanne, Richard, and Elaine. They moved to Hollywood, Florida in the 1950s and stayed in Florida.^[6] Abraham passed away in 1997 and Eleanor died ten years later, residing in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.^[7][8]
