Emily was baptised at St Peter and St Paul, Hanborough, Oxfordshire on 6th June 1837.[1] She was the daughter of James Buckingham and Rebecca Woodward. Her father stated on the register that he was a labourer and that the family were living in Freeland at the time.
Luke Buckingham (bachelor, of full age), a labourer, of Eynsham, son of John Buckingham, labourer; and Emily Rebecca Buckingham (spinster, of full age), of Eynsham, daughter of James Buckingham, labourer; were married at Eynsham parish church on 8 October 1855. The witnesses were called Mary Ann Harris and Henry Smith. [2]
