Source: S90 Research of Barbara Flesher Nichols, Carthage, MO. Barbara Flesher Nichols of Carthage, Missouri, devoted many hours to researching her ancestors. Most of her work was between 1980 and 1993. Her main focus was on her FLESHER family and her husband's family, the NICHOLS. She also gathered information on ancestors, ROUX, MOORE, LOTT, NORTHWAY, and HERRMANN, among others. In the last years of her research she used a computer and entered her basic information into a database, but she never had access to the internet. Her research was all traditional; interviews, phone calls, snail mail, libraries and microfilm. She accumulated a small library of documents, photos, and letters. Her information is generally dependable for what she had to work with, however it was never documented by present genealogical standards. One discovery she was proud of was that Henry Fleischer who died in Virginia in 1831 was a direct ancestor to both her and her husband. I am her son-in-law. My goal is to preserve as much of her research as possible. I began by entering and improving her data into a RootsMagic database, which I hope the family will preserve. My plans are to eventually move as much as possible to wikitree.com. Dennis Bowers, Carthage, Missouri, 2023
